10 Most Replayable Sci-Fi Video Games Of All Time
3. Dead Space
Fans of survival horror got an early Christmas present in 2008 when Dead Space was released.
The game was developed purely to unnerve players from the off, with its score being designed with the specific intention of evoking uneasiness, and elements such as removing the HUD being added to lend some extra realism to Dead Space's horrifying proceedings.
There are puzzles, some of which must be solved in the vacuum of space or in zero-g, and there are whole sections of gameplay that must be completed while keeping one eye on Isaac Clarke's limited air supply.
There's also the added complication that while you navigate the game's menus, in-game time does not pause, which - as anyone who's ever experienced will tell you - is one of the most stress-inducing things a video game can do.
The game's antagonists are the Necromorphs, reanimated corpses mutated by extraterrestrial infection. Those six words used in conjunction still don't quite go far enough to describe the sheer horror that Dead Space offers players.
Also, if replaying Dead Space isn't enough, you can also play through the two sequels to finish off the trilogy. Really, it would be a crime not to.
