10 Most Rewarding Evil Playthroughs In Gaming
8. Overlord
In Triumph Studios' real-time strategy title, seven plucky heroes vow to bring peace to the world by destroying the nefarious Overlord.
However, what makes Overlord different from most fantasy RPGs is the story is told from the bad guy's POV. Throughout the main campaign, the titular warrior must lay waste to everyone who crosses his path, often by summoning a destructive horde of minions (creatively called "Minions"). Unlike other entries on this list, being a goody two-shoes isn't an option. Being the overarching villain, your only choices are being evil or... really evil.
Even when there's an opportunity to perform a good deed, it rarely leads to a reward. In situations like this, it's rational to slaughter everyone in sight instead so you can claim their possessions.
Also, you shouldn't worry about your conscience getting the better of you. Considering the supposed heroes behave like total douches, it's hard to feel bad when you put them in the ground. In fact, it feels like you're doing the locals a favour when these self-absorbed cretins are defeated. The Overlord may be ruthless, but at least he knows how to run things.
