Falsely believing themselves to be a modern revival of an ancient pagan religion, Los Iluminados have the whole shebang: churchly robes, ceremonial tattoos, skull masks, and of course, a penchant for human sacrifice.
The cultists worship Plagas - parasites that can invade the body and influence a person's actions - and have control over many villagers by making them into the Plaga-infested Ganados. In kidnapping the president's daughter, Ashley Graham, and implanting a Plaga into her, it is the goal of Los Iluminados to spread their influence to the president himself, and from there, the rest of the world.
From the parasite-harbouring monstrosity Osmund Saddler to the wrinkled, gremlin-like castellan, Salazar, not one member of this underground syndicate isn't off their absolute rocker. Since their threats are far from hollow as well, it would be wise to take them seriously - and run for your life.
