In RE2, when Mr X wasn't enough, there was Birkin - or his mutated name, G, which is a little underwhelming these days.
Birkin injected himself with the 'G' Virus after he was shot by a HUNK-led Umbrella task force. Soon he takes out his rage on the umbrella soldiers and then on Leon and Claire.
At first, he's already quite repulsive, and then he evolves, and evolves, and evolves two more times, getting uglier and uglier, less physically logical and eventually just a mishmash of a monstrosity.
Before Nemesis, the fact that he kept coming back after previously killing him terrified us all, doubting if we could ever finish him off, that hideous exterior only adding more fuel to the fire.
