10 Most Terrifying Enemies In The Fallout Franchise

4. Scorchbeasts

The Scorchbeast is the newest addition to this rogue's gallery, but it is no less evil or threatening for that.

Like several others on the list, Scorchbeasts were the folly of man, created when Enclave scientists exposed irradiated bats to biochemical weapons. Although they were supposed to be kept in isolation, individual Scorchbeasts escaped and spread out across Appalachia.

Scorchbeasts are enormous mutant bats that not only have wings, but have also grown an extra set of legs. Quick and agile, despite how large they are, they hunt in packs, emit radiation, use sonic blasts, and hover over opponents to cover them with acidic mist.

Oh, and they carry the plague that created the Scorched humans across Appalachia.

They're just bastards all around.

On top of regular Scorchbeasts, there is a Queen who emerges when players nuke Fissure Site Prime. Battling her is a server-wide event that necessitates very powerful weapons and armour, as not only does she have ridiculously high resistance but she does both poison and radiation damage and summons lesser enemies to help in the fight.

Basically, cross Godzilla with Smaug and you have a Scorchbeast Queen.

The first recorded fight with a Scorchbeast Queen is an epic watch, displaying equal parts awe, fear, admiration, and joy at this first-time encounter.
