10 Most Terrifying Horror Game Enemies Of The Generation

7. Nemesis - Resident Evil 3 Remake

Though most of the encounters with Nemesis in Resident Evil 3 Remake are criticised for being too scripted, Resi’s jump scare champion is still more than capable of giving you a solid fright in Resi 3 Remake.

The nigh-on unkillable brute is also still an enormous threat thanks to his incredible strength, smarts, dexterity, and firepower. The lethal Umbrella creation also looks straight up horrifying with exposed muscles and flesh, and giant gnashing teeth. Nemesis’ relentless vendetta against all members of STARS means even when he’s not actively in the level with you, he’s bound to be in the back of your mind since he’s rarely more than a smashed wall away from giving Jill Valentine a hell of a bad time.

Nemesis has many forms, which not only make for diverse and interesting boss encounters, but watching the creatures steady transition from near-human, to horrid cat-like-flesh-beast, to amorphous warehouse-sized blob of undulating flesh mean that the scares are always fresh, and you certainly never know what to expect.

Like Mr. X before it, Nemesis’ relentless pursuit and pace make its presence the number one fear-factor.

You learn quickly, just as Jill does, that once Nemesis has made its appearance, it ain’t going to stop unless you stop it - hard. But as they say, it isn’t over until the giant umbrella-brand rail gun sings.
