10 Most Under-Appreciated Video Games Of 2018

8. Detroit: Become Human

With Detroit: Become Human, Quantic Dream finally bested Heavy Rain. Why, then, was it not more popular?

Well, there are multiple reasons for this; be it the unjust dislike of director David Cage in the games industry, or the just controversy surrounding the studio's work culture. Regardless of why it was overlooked, Detroit: Become Human was a fantastic game with heaps of replay value and one of this generation's best stories.

Detroit, circa 2038, is a city revitalised by the advent of androids as human helpers. Think iRobot but much more life-like. Three androids, Kara, Markus, and Connor, find themselves intrinsically linked in a world that is on the brink of revolution. It's a story that works surprisingly well, even if it is rather heavy-handed in its reflections of race relations in early 1900's America.

If you're a gamer who enjoys a good story, you'll have a blast with Detroit: Become Human, and then be compelled to play through it again to see the choices you didn't make the first time.
