10 Most Underrated Nintendo 64 Boss Battles
1. King Bob-omb - Super Mario 64
Topping the list is the first boss in the legendary Super Mario 64.
Super Mario 64 was released in 1996 and, apart from the painful camera angles, it is one of the few Nintendo 64 games that hasn't aged badly.
The first world in this genre defining game is the immensely fun Bob-omb Battlefield, which features iconic characters like the Bob-ombs, Chain Chomp and Koopa The Quick.
At the top of Bob-omb Mountain, King Bob-omb is lording over the land polishing his Power Star and challenges Mario to a round of fisticuffs. Although the King is no match for Mario's pace, he more than makes up for it in brawn as he is able to launch the Italian plumber off the mountain resulting in an agonising slog back to the top.
In order to defeat the King, Mario has to grab him from behind (easier said than done) and drop him on the floor three times to unlock the Power Star. Tempting as it is to launch his royal ass off the mountain, he won't actually take any damage and will leap back to the mountain ready for round 2 or 3 or 4, depending on how sadistic you're feeling.
