10 Most Underrated Sci-Fi Video Games
6. Prey (2017)
Developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda, Prey is a first-person shooter that takes place aboard the space station Talos I, a scientific hub housing an alien species known as the Typhon. Players take control of Morgan Yu, a human living in a time where President John F Kennedy survives his assassination attempt, sets aside more budget for space funding and works with the Soviet Union against the Typhon common enemy.
Morgan is a researcher on board the Talos I when, naturally, the Typhon escape their confines and begin rampaging across the ship. The game is split up nicely between typical action-focused first-person shooting, and a far more horror-centred series of stealth and survival segments, blending in nicely together to keep Prey feeling fresh at all times.
There is also a great deal of role-playing and open world elements to enjoy in Prey, with players given the opportunity to customise most of Morgan's appearance and stats, as well as being given free reign on the dialogue he chooses, all of which slightly change the course of the game and which result in potentially three different endings to play through.
