When you're the sequel to the critically-acclaimed Spider-Man 2 videogame, you've got a lot riding on your shoulders.

Unfortunately Spider-Man 3 doesn't quite live up the reputation set by its predecessor, but it's still a highly playable Spider-Man adventure that's definitely better than the movie it's based on.

The main issue with the game is it came out when quick-time events were all the rage. It's packed full of these, and while they're cool set pieces, they can be a bit excessive. But look past that, and what you've got here is basically an HD version of Spider-Man 2.

The game's city is larger than Spidey 2 with a fully explorable subway system, and it also includes more collectables and minigames than its predecessor. It also introduces the black suit and a 'Rage' meter, which when filled, allows Spider-Man to have increased damage and new moves which take advantage of the symbiote bonded to his body.

This title was also released on several other platforms including the PS2, Wii, PSP and Nintendo DS, but these are inferior versions of the game.

Our only major gripe with the game is they didn't include Tobey's iconic dance scene.
