2. Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro

Sometimes, the critics just get it wrong.

Despite giving fair-to-middling reviews of Enter Electro, the direct sequel to Spider-Man on the PS1, real Spidey gaming fans often cite this as one of the finest forgotten gems in Spidey's back catalogue.

First released in 2001, the game further expands on the foundations of its predecessor. The most notable change is the ability to fight down on the ground and not just on the rooftops; in the original title if Spidey went too low, he died!

The fighting system remains largely unchanged from the original bar some new moves such as shooting web balls in the air, or - awesomely - using electric and ice webbing against enemies!

The storyline is also a direct continuation of the original title, with the primary villain being Electro himself. Along the way you'll encounter plenty of other foes too though, including Hammerhead, Sandman, Lizard, Shocker and a souped-up version of Electro named Hyper-Electro.
