10 Most Underwhelming Bosses In Resident Evil History
8. Ndesu - Resident Evil 5
Despite its semblance to a Lord of the Rings cave troll, the boss fights against El Gigante in Resident Evil 4 were pretty exciting.
At that point it was still rare to face such large enemies in the franchise and that game smartly alters the parameters of the fight each time you face El Gigante. The original fight takes place in a standard arena, the second in a tight corridor with locked gates that impede your ability to flee, and finally the game throws two at you in one go along with a mechanical trap door that you can operate if you’re skilled enough.
Resident Evil 5 decides to repeat that exact character model but to stick you in an immovable turret and simply have you blast targets for entirely too much time. It’s one thing to copy and paste a boss fight from a previous title but it is downright stupid to strip away all the excitement of the fight to be replaced by a fixed turret.
This particular fight is a little less underwhelming if you crank the difficulty right up - it at least then presents a decent challenge - but it doesn’t make it any more fun.
