10 Most Underwhelming Bosses In Resident Evil History

7. Eveline - Resident Evil VII: Biohazard

Resident Evil VII: Biohazard was, in many ways, a fresh start for the franchise; doing away with the overblown action that had been populating the franchise since Resident Evil 4 and returning to something closer to the original games’ style but with a modern update.

Biohazard wasn’t for everyone, of course, but for those who appreciated what it was trying to do, it was like a drop of water in a seemingly endless desert.

Overall, VII provides a pretty solid stable of boss fights. Jack Baker caught on well with fans for his persistence and perpetual redneck banter, which left him sounding like a cousin of the family from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. His wife, Marguerite Baker, was just as creepy and her frankly gross boss fight is possibly the best boss fight in the game.

Unfortunately, the game stumbles at its final hurdle with a final boss that is the definition of underwhelming.

Following the aforementioned great boss fights and the tense build up to Eveline, we’re given a great twist in which Eveline is revealed to be the old lady from the beginning of the game. She then transforms into a weird gloopy mess and is dispatched with no sweat broken. The final blow is even dealt by a pistol instead of the series’ trademark rocket launcher.
