When it comes to Japanese villains, it's hard not to think of everybody's favourite white haired, katana wielding, and egotistical anime swordsman, Virgil. However putting him aside for a moment, Final Fantasy reached its peak villain with Sephiroth himself. The man - just like most other FF villains of the past - is introduced as unflinching, unstoppable, and most importantly, near God-like in power.

So by the half-way point of Final Fantasy XV most players were probably asking themselves, where is this game's Sephiroth? There's no way it could be the fedora-wearing, red-haired man... could it?

Well, buckle up Noctis and friends because Arden reveals himself not only as the game's Big Bad, but also basically the devil himself. Boasting all of the same powers as the protagonist, this mad man actually achieves his goals towards the end of the game as well, despite the fact that he looks like some sort of fashion show nightmare.

Then to really put the icing on the over-powered cake, he engages in some sort of Dragon Ball Z-style flying battle at the game's finale.

So much for the goofy fedora-wearing weirdo we met all those hours ago.
