10 Mundane But Incredibly Useful Items In Dungeons And Dragons
6. Crowbar
There are many times in Dungeons and Dragons where you will be relying on your rogue and his thieves tools to access a locked room. Then there are other times when you say, “screw all this stealth lark, were going in.” Enter the crowbar.
Available in both the Burglar’s pack and the Dungeoneer’s pack, the crowbar is as much of a multi-use tool in Dungeons and Dragons as it is in real life. Whether you’re prying a door open, breaking the lock on that chest or using it to fight the combine, there’s always a place for the crowbar.
If we examine the official description, it states that “Using a crowbar grants advantage to Strength checks where the crowbar’s leverage can be applied.” Depending on what your Dungeon Master allows, this statement can be up for a lot of interpretation. Potentially, you can use the crowbar to gain advantage on barring doors, moving heavy items or potentially as a makeshift weapon. The crowbar is truly a wondrous multi-use tool.
