10 Mundane But Incredibly Useful Items In Dungeons And Dragons

4. Rope

If you’re playing a character in Dungeons and Dragons, odds are you have 50-feet of hempen rope. Available in the Burglar’s, Dungeoneer's and Explorer's pack, while also being sold cheaply in most shops, there is no reason not to have it.

Think to yourself how often an adventuring party would use rope and you begin to realise how they would struggle to function without it. There is nearly always some sort of rickety rope bridge to cross or mountain to climb. Tie the party off at a tree or rock and you can avoid all that fall damage or possible death.

Adventuring parties in Dungeons and Dragons seem to be constantly taking prisoners, whether that be for questioning, hostages or just because they’re a bunch of violent idiots. How would you be able to do this without your faithful length of rope?

There are just so many uses for this simple tool. Combined with other items it can be as important as your armour. Never leave home in Dungeons and Dragons without a length of rope.
