10 New Game Plus Features We Should've Started With

2. Red Lightsaber - Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

In Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, it made a certain amount of sense that players couldn't use a red lightsaber until New Journey Plus, given that the bulk of the game is about Cal Kestis embracing his status as a Jedi Knight.

And of course, red lightsabers are typically reserved for the Sith, so canonically it'd be a teensy bit weird if players could just instantly change their laser swords that colour during their first go of the story.

But with that ability unlocked at game's end, it's odd that sequel Jedi: Survivor rips it away and once again forces players to beat the campaign before regaining it.

Evidently developers Respawn Entertainment didn't want players to experience the story while rocking a red lightsaber for the first time, but if Survivor is about taking the Jedi training wheels off, then it's silly to scale-back the cosmetic choices players had at the end of the last game. Once again, options are a good thing!
