10 No-Brainer Video Game Sequels That DIDN'T Get Made
7. Mega Man Legends 3
Capcom's Blue Bomber has had many a spin-off over the years; the X series and Battle Network spin-offs are two such examples. Arguably the biggest cult favourite of these was Mega Man Legends which debuted the long-running franchise in the third dimension while going deeper with its story.
Fans were certainly drawn to its charms and the first two entries gained strong followings across the PlayStation and other consoles. The plan was to launch the third Legends title on the 3DS upon its announcement in 2010. However, once creator Keiji Inafune left Capcom, doubts started to circulate around the project; despite insisting that development would continue.
Mega Man Legends 3 would end up being cancelled a year later; according to Capcom, there wasn't enough interaction between the developers to keep pushing forward. This didn't stop the fanbase from banding together on a Facebook page titled: "100,000 Strong for bringing back Mega Man Legends 3", but it failed to persuade the corporation to continue.
Over a decade later, the third entry still hasn't arrived to continue the story with Mega Man still stranded on the moon. Recently, the game's composer stated he wants to go the route of Shenmue 3 and crowdfund Legends 3, but no further details of this have surfaced.
