10 Obvious Features We Can't Believe All Games DON'T HAVE
8. UI & Text Scaling
One of the most underappreciated aspects of video game development is UI/UX design - creating a user interface that's intuitive and easy to use while ensuring a smooth user experience.
But it's incredibly difficult for any UI to fully cater to the needs or desires of all players, and so a degree of customisation is certainly welcome.
First and foremost, the ability to scale aspects of the interface for players with limited vision or those playing on handheld devices like the Steam Deck, feels like a necessity today.
Given that some games still don't include the option to increase the size of subtitles, it might seem like a tall order, but given that a tough-to-read UI can make a game basically unplayable for many, developers are only undermining their own business without offering scaling options right out of the box.
