10 Obvious Features We Can't Believe All Games DON'T HAVE
3. Remappable Controls
Given the strides that developers have made for accessibility in recent years, it's maddening that some games still don't allow players to remap their entire control scheme.
On both console and PC, it's still common for new games to offer no ability to rebind controls to suit a player's particular needs or preferences.
This is an important enough feature that it can even leave some players unable or unwilling to play the game, and so publishers are absolutely leaving money on the table by not including such support.
While consoles typically allow remapping at a global, system-wide level, this is a clunky solution because, of course, not all games are suited to the same control layout for all players.
Even for the standards of this list, remappable controls are an extremely simple feature from a gamedev perspective, and so it should 100% be an expectation across the industry at all budget levels.
