10 Obvious Features We Can't Believe All Games DON'T HAVE

2. Save Anywhere

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Bethesda

A possibly controversial choice here, but the ability to save anywhere feels like a necessity in the fast-paced world of today.

Being able to open a menu or even hit a hotkey and instantly save your game precisely where it is rules, as Bethesda's RPGs have categorically proven over the years.

While some might argue that saving anywhere encourages players to play games recklessly and it would make, say, survival horror titles less suspenseful, it's also fair to say that options are a damn good thing.

Why not make it an option that players can toggle on or off at the start of a playthrough?

Either way, being able to immediately save in place and avoid losing heaps of progress due to the many interruptions of real life can be hugely beneficial for players whose sustained free time is limited, serving as a fantastic anti-frustration feature in the process.

Unsurprisingly, save anywhere mods are some of the most popular downloads on Nexus Mods, confirming the massive demand there is for the feature.
