9. Bullet – Enter The Gungeon

Everyone knows that guns fire bullets, right? Wrong! At least in the case of indie classic Enter the Gungeon. This top-down dungeon crawler is chock full of wacky weapons, from railguns to lasers to black hole launchers, but its most outrageous is the deceptively simply titled The Bullet. It’s a gun that looks like a bullet, which fires out bullets that look like guns. Reverse engineering at its finest.

It’s a hilarious concept, and developers Dodge Roll pulled it off beautifully: it’s as fun to play with as it is to look at. To further add to the mayhem, each tiny handgun fired by the Bullet shoots out a volley of bullets itself, creating a maelstrom of high-calibre chaos.

It’s not the most powerful weapon in the game, not by a long shot, but it may be the one that best encapsulates Enter the Gungeon’s flair for flamboyant firepower.
