10 Platinum Gaming Trophies That Were Literal Torture
9. Alien Isolation
Released by Creative Assembly in 2014, Alien Isolation stands as perhaps the best video game adaptation of the 1979 movie. It's also one of the most challenging, being a game of survival to its very core.
With no real means of fighting or killing the Alien that stalks you around the Sevastopol Station, getting the trophies is often a brutal slog. At first it seems simple, beat the game, use a few items, job done. But once you start combing the halls for hidden collectables with the creature breathing down your neck, the stress begins to mount.
In the horror genre, few trophies can match the nasty One Shot and Survivor achievements. One Shot in particular is the absolute worst, getting players to go through the twelve-hour experience without dying. If Amanda loses only once, you're doing the entire game over again.
In the most extreme test of skill, some YouTubers have been able to complete the entire game on nightmare mode without saving or dying. Given the unpredictable nature of the xenomorph though, Alien Isolation's platinum trophy makes for a hellish ordeal that may well making you feel just as anxious as Amanda Ripley herself.
