10 Platinum Gaming Trophies That Were Literal Torture
8. Bloodborne
Hailed as one the PlayStation 4's masterworks; Bloodborne from FromSoftware marked itself as another vicious and horrific challenge that pushed players to the limits.
Many would point to Bloodborne's massive difficulty as the driving force behind its platinum trophy, but the reality is more complicated.
To stand a chance in the game's Chalice dungeons, you'll have to level your character and weapons up to the max, which requires a large amount of grinding and combat throughout the streets of Yharnam.
With the randomised dungeons and large amount of collectables, Bloodborne is already difficult enough to platinum, but to top it all off, the conclusion can be equally punishing.
The game's three different endings are another source of difficulty, and on launch, many players found themselves slogging through the cruel monsters and bosses several times to reach slightly different cutscenes.
This problem was eventually rectified with an exploit that involved backing up a pre-endgame save onto a hard drive and repeating the process without having to burn through the game, but either way, you're putting up with a lot of busywork.
