10 Platinum Gaming Trophies That Were Literal Torture

7. Crypt Of The Necrodancer

Final fantasy 14
Brace Yourself Games

The rogue-lite Crypt of the NecroDancer offers an awesome, toe-tapping spin on the dungeon crawler genre, asking players to maintain a rhythm as they tap the buttons in time with the music to traverse levels, beat monsters and collect a wide range of items.

However, much of its replayability comes from the ludicrously difficult challenges that line its trophy list. At first the game seems fairly straightforward; you get used to the beat-based gameplay, memorise how items and enemies work and finally make your way to the exit.

For the hardcore fan though, Crypt of the NecroDancer offers a dastardly set of challenges.

To platinum this game, trophies appear to go up in stages in terms of difficulty.

You'll need to go solo with all three characters and make it out of the crypt. Not hard enough? Now do it without dying once. Still a glutton for punishment? The unlocked Coda mode doubles the beat and forces you to play through without dropping the rhythm while also avoiding any gold.

Are you a total psychopath? Clear all nine characters without dying and using no items or shrines.

With the last entry being fatal, the sheer difficulty of this platinum speaks for itself.
