10 PlayStation 5 Exclusives We Know Are In Development

2. Persona 6

GOD OF WAR II
Atlus

It's quite incredible just how much the Persona series has grown in popularity in the past few years. The series, developed by Sega-owned Atlus, is a spin-off of the Shin Megami Tensei series, though has thoroughly eclipsed it in sales and popularity.

The true rise of Persona, ironically, began on Sony's awesome but mishandled PS Vita handheld. The system received a remaster of Persona 4 and it was widely considered a must-own PS Vita game. As such, word of mouth spread from the PlayStation hardcore fanbase, and suddenly Persona was a big deal.

Persona 5 then released in 2016 and was a smash hit. Excitement for the title was rife, considering it was eight years since the initial release of Persona 4, and it resulted in sales of around 3 million and critical acclaim. Persona 4 was the breakout title but Persona 5 announced the series as a truly major player in Sony's arsenal.

As such, Persona 6 is as inevitable as the sun rising. Not just that, but it's going to come far sooner than Persona 5 did. Atlus has already confirmed that Persona 6 is in development, alongside multiple spin-offs. That means Persona 6 on the PS5 is a guarantee, and we're predicting a 2022 release.
