10 Pokémon Games You've (Probably) Never Played

7. Pokémon Box

You could probably deem describing Pokémon Box as a “game” is playing somewhat fast and loose with the word, but Nintendo sold it as one so if it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for me.

Fully titled Pokémon Box: Ruby and Sapphire, this spin-off was released for the Nintendo Gamecube in May 2003 in Japan, but had select availability in other parts of the world. In North America, Pokémaniacs had to wait until July 2004 for the game and could only get it via the New York Pokémon Centre and its online store.

In the various European countries that were bestowed it, it was known as Pokémon Memory Magic and could only be purchased using Nintendo of Europe loyalty points or by purchasing the Pokémon Colosseum Mega Pack.

The main function of the game was as additional storage for Pokémon caught in the third generation games and the remake games Fire Red and Leaf Green. Owing to this, the game came bundled with a Gamecube to Game Boy Advance link cable and a Gamecube memory card. Players could also breed Pokémon to acquire unique Pokémon as well as organise them and play the handheld games on their TV.

A lover of video games, Star Wars, and cereal. Thinks Starfox Adventures was really good.
