10 Popular Pokémon That Struggle Battling Online
6. Blastoise
The three original starter evolutions will hold a special place in the heart of every trainer who has been with the franchise since the beginning. As the mascot for Pokémon Blue, fans have been debating for years whether Blastoise or Charizard is the superior Pokémon, all while ignoring Venusaur's amazing battling prowess.
Without a Mega Stone, Blastoise is in no way a hard hitter. The Water 'Mon's Attack stats are below average, as is its Speed, meaning it has to rely on the ability to take a beating while chipping away at its opponent. But with no reliable recovery moves, Blastoise doesn't last too long on the battlefield.
Blastoise is better used as a Rapid Spinner, clearing away entry hazards such as Stealth Rock and Spikes. But if a Spinner isn't needed in the match, Blastoise usually ends up taking the place of other bulky Water types, such as Slowbro or Cloyster, who can hit significantly harder.
