6. Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe - Joker/Deathstroke Fatality

A crossover fighting title from Warner Brothers and Midway, this brawler edited two fatalities in order to secure a "Teen" rating in North America.

Done in a rather sneaky and devilish way (from the perspective that no actual coding or design changes had to be made), the fatalities of the clown prince of crime and super serious military fighter Deathstroke featured them delivering the final blow to an opponent via a gunshot to the head.

Joker initially pulls out a fake gun that protrudes a flag with the word "BANG!" on it, before laughing, dropping the gun, quickly pulling out a real firearm and landing the kill shot. Deathstroke's fatality is more savagely brutal, as he impales his opponent with his sword, calmly walks away, takes aim and nails the losing fighter with a bullet to the head.

The full fatalities can be seen in the UK version, but in the version that was released in North America, the camera quickly zooms in to hide the victim and only implies the shooting. A rather creative way to get around what could have been a tricky problem.
