10 Problems Nobody Admits About Mass Effect (That Andromeda Can Fix)
It wasn't all sunshine and Salarian scientists, y'know.
Ahead of the release of Mass Effect Andromeda, Bioware are finally starting to look up from their position in the naughty corner as if to say, "Is it okay to come back?"
"Yes!" comes the cry from fans, as the sting of Mass Effect 3's ending has long since faded, and we're more than up for galavanting across the galaxy with a merry band of interspecies badasses once again.
Thankfully, Bioware have been biding their time with purpose, returning with a story pivot that sees the 'Andromeda Initiative' set off to find a new home for humanity during the events of Mass Effect 2. Instead of ignoring Shepard, we have a team of explorers who heeded his warnings of a Reaper invasion, fleeing to Andromeda and giving players a whole new galaxy to explore.
All that said, despite the end of Mass Effect 3 leaving an immortally sour taste, there are a number of elements within the franchise as a whole that need addressing. Don't forget, this is the series' debut on next-gen hardware, and with that comes the flick of a few reset switches.
There are new characters, motivations, alliances and enemies, sure, but when it comes to how Bioware advance the core feel of how Mass Effect 'feels', here's hoping they've improved on all these core bugbears that mostly go overlooked.
