10 Promising 2020 Video Games You Must Consider

7. Cris Tales

journey to a savage planet
Modius Games

Cris Tales was first revealed at E3, but with the likes of Elden Ring, Watch Dogs: Legion and Breath Of The Wild 2 being revealed, it got a little lost in the crowd. That’s before you even get onto games which, while not unveiled, unloaded a ton of new info on us at the expo too.

Cris Tales sees you play as Crissbell in her past, present and future. The game’s unique timewarp system allows you to hop between eras, benefitting in the future from changes made in the past.

The three eras are displayed simultaneously on screen too, encouraging you to learn from the past in order to shape the future. It’s an extremely innovative idea, and from what we’ve seen so far Cris Tales is set to deliver.

It has an absolutely gorgeous and charming art style, and calls itself a love letter to classic RPGs. Just like the mechanics then, the entire feel of the game is shaping up to be a blend of old and new. Cutesy looking games are always in a bit of danger of not being taken seriously, but it’s already clear that Cris Tales deserves your attention.
