10 Promising 2020 Video Games You Must Consider

3. Journey To The Savage Planet

Journey To The Savage Planet has the earliest release of any game featured here, dropping on 28th January 2020. It’s a debut game for Typhoon Studios, although publishers 505 have a good track record of sleeper hits through Brothers, How To Survive and Abzu, amongst others.

Alex Hutchinson, who was game director for Far Cry 4, is heading up development too, so it does appear to be in safe hands.

The lack of a major corporation behind it though would explain why we’re yet to hear that much of it. As release day approaches, there’ll likely be a late surge in marketing, but until then there’s enough to cobble together to suggest Savage Planet is worth paying attention to.

It’s a co-op adventure game, one looking to succeed where No Man’s Sky initially stumbled. As an employee of Kindred Aerospace, you’re dropped on an uncharted planet with a very simple goal: chart it. By examining the terrain, flora, and fauna, your job is to decide whether or not the planet is actually inhabitable for human life. Either that, or die trying.

Kindred Aerospace proudly touts itself as the fourth best in the business, highlighting the humour and silliness awaiting on the Savage Planet.
