10 PS1 Games That Completely Messed With Your Mind

6. Rhythm 'n' Face

The final "video game" project from the mind behind LSD: Dream Emulator, Rhythm 'n' Face is a project only slightly less bizarre. The title is part rhythm game, part basic art creation program, with the aim being to replicate the artist's images of different faces, made up from a series of circles, triangles and squares (referencing the PS1 controller), which will at the same time piece together various elements of music until a complete song is formed.

First-time players will quickly realise that there is not an epilepsy seizure warning strongly worded enough for what they are experiencing. Looking beyond the game's bright lights, we also have some truly disturbing anthropomorphic assistants, backgrounds that look like they come from a creepypasta about a game from the dark web, and a soundtrack that takes elements of nursery rhymes as well as folk and classical music, all with a turn of the millennium electronic twist.
