10 Rage Quit Moments That Made Us Leave Video Games Forever

9. Father Gascoigne - Bloodborne

There'll no doubt be plenty of Soulsborne veterans who saw this title and scoffed at any of From Software's games being included in this list. The general consensus is that you're either bad if you struggle to beat these titles or that the games themselves aren't hard, actually. It's an argument that turned into a meme but, for the most part, the series' brand of difficulty is admittedly rarely sudden or unfair in a way that makes you want to rage quit.

That said, for first-time players and even Dark Souls lifers, Father Gascoigne proved to be such a step up in challenge that he became known as the boss which separated the wheat from the chaff in Bloodborne. The hunter forced you to be more agile than you ever were in the Souls games and adapt to the faster gameplay. The old tricks didn't work, and you had to engage with this new title's different set of mechanics if you wanted to best your foe.

It's a real test of might, and if you were playing the past couple of hours like you were fighting your way through Undead Burg, you didn't stand a chance.
