10 Rare Video Game Console Variants You Might Actually Own

5. Resident Evil Code: Veronica Edition Dreamcast

PS4 PS1 20th Anniversary
SEGA

Released alongside the eponymous game in 2000, the Resident Evil Code: Veronica themed Sega Dreamcast is another rare treasure indeed.

Available in semi-translucent red (Claire edition) and blue (S.T.A.R.S edition) versions, this special edition of the Sega Dreamcast system was only produced in numbers of around two thousand, making it a true collectors' piece.

This both special and limited edition of the console came bundled with - somewhat unsurprisingly - a copy of the titular game, a controller in the same colour scheme as the base system, a grey VMU, as well as various smaller Resident Evil themed collectables.

While no real consensus appears to exist regarding the comparative rarity of the red vs. blue editions, either one of these will set you back a small fortune were you looking to add it to your collection in 2020.

With online sellers able to follow up the question "What are you buying?" with figures stretching easily over a thousand pounds for a working, boxed edition, if you want to get your hands on the Resident Evil edition Dreamcast, you'll certainly buy it at a high price, stranger (different game, I know).
