4. Castlevania Anniversary Collection (Ultimate Edition)
Now the Ultimate Edition of Castlevania Anniversary Collection is a rather weird example of price gouging, mostly because it hasn't actually been released yet. The Switch version of the collection was initially sold for $175 back in June of this year on the Limited Run Games site.
Even though nobody has actually received a copy of the game yet, outside of the influencers and YouTubers paid to advertise it, the price of the collection is already popping up on eBay for as high as $400.
These are "pre-sale" listings, meaning that even the sellers haven't actually received their copies yet. The collection sold out pretty quickly on the LRG website, meaning the people listing their copies never actually planned on keeping the games; they were far more interested in making a quick buck.
This is also a good indication of how expensive this collection will probably end up being once it actually does release. It's far too early to say exactly how much it will go for, but if people are rabid enough to pay more than $200 past what it actually retailed for before it's even out... it's fair to say it will end up being even more costly next year.
