10 Rarest N64 Games Ever

1. Yoshi's Story: International Version

Serving as a sequel to Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Yoshi's Story was yet another Yoshi solo adventure. The player would take control of the Yoshi in a variety of colors, in a bid to return their world to its normal state after it has been turned into a picture book by Baby Bowser. The world you play in very much resembles a pop-up book, with various textures represented in the graphics such as cardboard, cotton and wood - an idea that inspire Kirby's Epic Yarn and the upcoming Wii U game, Yoshi's Woolly World. Much like Clayfighter 63 1/3, it's not the standard retail version of this game which is rare, it's the bizarrely named international version which is a highly collectible item, often regarded as the rarest N64 cartridge in existence. As you'll see the cover says 'not for resale', this version was originally meant to show off the game before release, which is probably why the game's text is in Japanese, before Nintendo had the full translation available. Other than a different cover, the game's Japanese text and the fact it only works on American consoles, there's virtually no difference between this game and a regular retail copy. As for the price, it's so hard to actually find one for sale that coming up with a price is all but impossible.
