10 Rarest Video Game Deaths You Didn't Know Existed
8. Jumping Into The Underdark - Baldur's Gate 3
In Baldur's Gate 3, death isn't (always) the end of your journey. As long as you have at least one living person in your party, you can just resurrect everyone with a scroll.
Because death is such a common occurrence, the developers have come up with lots of different ways in which your character can die, including a collection of decisions and story-based death.
Some of these deaths can be an extremely rare event, such as this secret fall death that happens when you find the Underdark region too fast.
Literally.
In Act 1 of the game, there are several locations that lead to the subterranean world of the Underdark, like the passage underneath the goblin camp or the elevator in the Zhentarim hideout.
However, there is also a more direct way in, in the form of giant holes that most players wouldn't jump into due to the giant skull next to the jump marker.
If you are one of the brave souls who doesn't care about such silly warnings, the game will treat you to a secret cutscene where your character falls down the hole... and then turns into a bloody splatter at the bottom.
Well, it just goes to show the Larian team is prepared for every eventuality.
