2. A More Interesting World
All due respect to Dark Souls IIIs take on dark fantasy, but it is fairly similar to many dark fantasy titles that weve seen in the past. Within you will find few major deviations from the dragons, skeletons, and castles we associate with the genre.
Bloodborne, however, is a child of far fresher inspiration. Its gothic world borrows a few pages from the works of HP Lovecraft and Hammer horror films but has a dreamlike quality that is entirely its own. There is a malevolent - yet undeniably beautiful character to the visual design of Bloodborne that encourages you to explore every inch of it despite the danger.
Its no coincidence that many of the best visuals in Dark Souls III are lifted from Bloodborne.
