Along with back-stabs, one of the more consistently cheesy ways to find victory in Dark Souls is to throw up the biggest shield you can find and tank damage whenever possible. Invest enough skill points into this ability and you€™ll become nearly unstoppable.

For the most part, Bloodborne replaces shields with guns. However, rather than treat guns as the uber-powerful pieces of destruction most games present them as, here guns are more of a deterrent. They are used to stagger your foes and set yourself up for a powerful attack, as opposed to killing them outright.

It€™s an incredibly unique way to treat firearms in a game and adds a layer of skill to the combat that the shields of Dark Souls III cannot equal.
