10 Reasons Call Of Duty Must Be Boots On The Ground After Infinite Warfare

7. Eras Untouched

WTF call of duty infinite warfare
Activision

Call of Duty has touched upon only four different era's of warfare over the extremely long course of the franchises history. We started with World War II (CoD 1-3 & WaW), touched on the Cold War (BO1 and parts of BO2) moved into hypothetical modern/near future wars (MW-MW3, BO2, Ghosts), and now it's focused on far future warfare (AW, BO3, IW). This is actually pretty sad when you think about how long this series has been going.

While BO 1 & 2 (at least in 2's campaign) touch on the Cold War, it never focuses on any one part of it in detail. Korea, Vietnam, the Drug Wars and the Falklands are all large enough conflicts that could be the basis of games.

Outside of the Cold War, you have WWI, Bosnia, Iraq (twice over), even the American Civil War. Tons of feudal/ ancient wars (we almost had a Roman based game). Imagine playing a CoD game that's centred around Samurai during the ever popular Sengoku period.

Heck, if they don't want to touch on modern historical wars on the basis of "too soon", then why not some alternate history wars? A situation where the Nazis are still a threat in the 60's or 70's? Perhaps a second Civil War? It would still be an near infinite amount of situations to draw from.
