After a set amount of time, every player in the match will be alerted to a demon rune that's spawned somewhere in the arena, and the first person to get their hands on it is able to take control of one of the game's most menacing monsters.

While this demon transformation makes you powerful however, it doesn't completely ruin the balance of a match, as a team would instead focus on taking you down rather than ignoring you in favour of the objective.
