These almost doesn't need saying, but this is the first proper Game of Thrones game, which is just fantastic. By proper, I don't mean "only" - there have been other attempts to capture the world in game form, but they've mostly descended into hack and slash silliness. The key to a successful adaptation is all about the balance. Sure, it'd be fun to kick ass and take names as Jon Snow, but that's not what A Song of Ice and Fire is all about. With the show having concluded its third season, covering most of the first three books, there's plenty of material still to cover. If they want to jump ahead of the show, it's perfectly feasible (although I can't see this happening). The best thing they have going for them is a living, breathing world created by R.R. Martin, waiting for them to play around in - the scope they have in doing so is huge. While we all wait anxiously for the sixth book, The Winds of Winter, Telltale Games have the opportunity to take us further into the world and allow us to become a part of it. They know that the expectations amongst fans are huge and I think that this will lead to a overtly successful adaptation. There's so much source material for Telltale to draw from that - if it's bad - it'll come down to overindulgence. What are you most looking forward to about Telltale's episodic Game of Thrones? Do you think it will be a good adaptation? Let us know what you think in the comments.
