10 Reasons To Be Excited About Telltale's Game Of Thrones Video Game

8. The Potential For Gripping Action

While the majority of Game of Thrones is about politics rather than all out war, it doesn't mean that there isn't a fair bit of action in the mix. This is going to be a series of games after all; talking is fine and dandy, but you need some physical conflict in there to keep the game varied and interesting. Telltale have plenty of battles and skirmishes to choose from the source material, but I have a feeling, as the way their games usually play isn't geared for hack and slash, that we might have to settle for one on one combat. There's scope for you to plan battles, of course, but this all depends on who you play as within the game. It's possible that there will be different characters between episodes, which would allow them to focus one of the games more towards action and conflict while the others focus on political machinations behind the titular Game of Thrones. I'd certainly like to at least see some duelling, or compete in one of the tournaments that the royalty of Westeros are so fond of watching - jousting, for instance, could be an excellent addition to the game if done properly. To keep with the tone of the novels and the series, violence is essential, of course. If there's to be scheming at hand, there should also be some stabbing involved. You can't scheme without stabbing.
