7. It's Not A Mass Effect 3 Situation
There are many examples of games keeping essential and massive components of gameplay and the narrative behind an unnecessary paywall - looking at you, Asura’s Wrath - but few did it with the sheer gall of EA and Mass Effect 3, where an entire new squad mate was made available for download on day one.
Not just any casual soldier either, but the
last member of a species thought extinct for fifty thousand years who continued
to have crucial impact on the culture and story of the Mass Effect world, not
even mentioning all the teasing you did for Omega, and Leviathan wasn’t exactly just
a footnote to one of the franchise’s grandest mystery was it, you smug, salty assh-

Breath of the Wild should parade none of that nonsense. With only one piece of story DLC confirmed for the Holiday pack, Nintendo would be hard pressed to make it something that feels like it was carved screaming and bloody from the main game.
Not that that is a guarantee it won’t be either, but still for the near future there is nothing pencilled in, a good indication that no holes will be left in the game just to get us to shill out the twenty quid for the expansion pass.
