10 Reasons God Of War Is The PS4's Best Exclusive
7. Perfect Pacing
One of the biggest surprises coming away from God of War is just how meaty the main story is. It'll take most players around 15-20 hours to reach the end credits, a major leap from the 8-12 hours most of the previous games took.
And yet, the pacing is absolutely perfect. Unlike earlier entries in the franchise, there are no moments where the action feels too relentless for its own sake: players are given adequate breathing room between encounters, and after intense boss fights, typically players will get a decent amount of time to travel back to the hub world or soak in a healthy dose of story.
Compare this to Uncharted 4, which while an undeniably fantastic game, bogged itself down with repetitious climbing sequences (the crates!) and exhausting shootouts that sometimes felt like more of a chore than anything.
It certainly helps that players can basically head off the main path at any time, but even if you stick to the critical quest-line, the game masterfully balances ferocious action with smaller, quieter moments where players can compose themselves.
