10 Reasons Mafia 3 Will Be Better Than GTA 6
7. Innovative Open-World Mechanics That Make A Subtle Difference
Remember when you first played Saints Row 3, and realised you could enter a car by just leaping through the window, rather than opening the door? It was a subtle change, but one that made playing that game and hopping between going on-foot and in vehicles near-seamless.
For Mafia 3, 2K have clearly been looking into what else they could innovate on, and have changed the way you travel around the world in a similar manner to 2003's The Getaway. Where Sony's first-party title showed navigation towards waypoints by having your car's turning signals light up before turns, Mafia 3 is doing the same with in-world signage.
On coming up to junctions and turning points, different neon signs or light-up components in the world will show you the direction to go, in a way that means you never have to take your eyes off the road to stare at a mini-map.
It's a small change, but one that aids general navigation tenfold.
