10 Reasons Nintendo Switch Online Is A Crushing Disappointment

2. Nintendo Has Created A Paywall Without Justifying It

Factoring all of these issues in, the worst thing about Nintendo Switch Online is simply the fact that Nintendo has put up a paywall for a previously free online suite and made only the scarcest, laziest attempt to justify it.

The company had 18 months to get this right, and to see it coming out of the gate so shockingly piecemeal is absolutely embarrassing. While Sony and Microsoft offer up a solid slate of "free" games every month for your subscription dues, a middling collection of retro titles just isn't enough to justify the price tag.

It may not be expensive at just £17.99/$19.99, but on the basis of its launch, the service will be more of a begrudged imposition to customers than a value-filled proposition.
