10 Reasons Nintendo Switch Online Is A Crushing Disappointment

3. There's Forced Online Check-Ins For NES Games

If you want to keep playing the service's library of NES games, you'll be required to check-in online every 7 days in order to "authenticate" your subscription.

While there are probably precious few situations where you and your Switch will be away from the Internet for a week, it's still an unnecessary, anti-consumer restriction that's once again shamed by Sony and Microsoft's more permissive attitude (that is, having no online authentication for downloaded games).

Considering that NES games aren't exactly high-value commodities, it does seem like a pretty cheeky move. Again, it's a rare scenario for 99% of gamers, but a needless imposition all the same.
