10 Reasons Why The Resident Evil Series Is Dead

1. Uncertain Future

Speaking with US gaming magazine Game Informer, Capcom's Michiteru Okabe noted that fans want to see a return to survival horror for Resident Evil 7, and that appears to be the direction for Resident Evil: Revelations 2, a spin-off series which will be released in episodic format. Once again, Resi isn't leading the way as it once used to - The Walking Dead helped pioneer the 'episode' format of releasing content, and did so with great acclaim and commercial success. A separate title, Resident Evil 7 remains in the distance, with little concrete information being released to suggest the game will return to those good-old mechanics. If gamers don't get the Resident Evil game they want to play, will there be enough patience left in the tank for an eighth attempt? Many longtime fans don't feel the series has been the same since the third game, even if Resi 4 was a fantastic experience. Will Resident Evil die if Resi 7 is similar to Resi 6?
